The Final Day
Hello fellow Homo Sapiens! I can’t believe it but the final day in this month long trip has come. The end has come. The final church visit and final RV ride has come. I can’t believe it. I know it all happened yesterday but still, it has come. Buckle up, for my last post of my month long trip!
So naturally of course, my dad spoke at a church yesterday. A church in Belleville, Pennsylvania. I was severely struggling to focus during his talk because I had heard it so often. This church provided two services and during the first service, I sat in on the 11th and 12th grader’s Sunday school and then during the second service, I only sat through half of the 9th and 10th grader’s Sunday school and then went to listen to my dad speak. I love hearing my dad give sermons, but I prefer when they are new. It was a good sermon though, I think lots of people enjoyed his sermon. I saw a lady in between services who was just so inspired by what my dad said about missions. She said she loved the way he spoke and what he spoke about. So, I know for a fact, it inspired people. I personally was infatuated with the church library. I know I know, Micah you heathen, but I couldn’t help it!! They had an amazing selection of books!! Like my library in my town! They had a ton of books by one of my favorite authors and I couldn’t keep myself from just coming back and read a little bit in a book every time I came back. After church, we were served lunch at the pastor’s house and that was delicious! We had chicken with potatoes, corn, and kale salad. For dessert we had apple dumplings, which I had never had in my memory so imagine my surprise when I cut into my dumpling and BOOM and full apple is baked in it. It was very yummy though! I had some sort of avocado oil ice cream on the Apple dumplings and honestly, I preferred the ice cream! It was a delicious lunch though!
After our delicious lunch, we set out for our final drive! It was six hours? maybe five? I don’t really know. I’ve slept since then. I started out literally just doing school. I had a quiz due that night and was stressing that it wasn’t done already so I cranked that out. That actually took me a large chunk of my time. Afterwards, I spent an hour ish playing iMessage games with one of my friends and then tried to take a nap. I failed on the nap, so I tried to watch something. I failed on that too. I couldn’t decide on watching anything. Eventually, I landed on (ya’ll, don’t judge me) Paw Patrol The Movie. It was a little repetitive but sadly I didn’t get to finish it. I run out of time on my apps after ten so when I ran out of time, we had an hour left in our drive. I slept for the last hour and then jolted awake to my mom saying “we’re home!” I was zonked out when she said that, like I had to wipe some drool from my mouth, it was solid sleep. I then was energized for a bit so I unpacked my clothes and dumped them on my floor. I grabbed a couple other things and then readied myself for bed. I slept so solidly. My bed has never felt comfier in my life. I take it back, my bed was pretty comfy after we moved back from Africa but still, this was a close second. I am so thankful to be home!
I’m so thankful for everything I’ve experienced throughout this month, for all the people I’ve met or just visited. It’s been a great month! As thankful as I am, I am overjoyed to be home. I didn’t realize how much I missed my tiny town of Grove City. It’s been great being home but also chaotic as per normal. I don’t know if I will keep blogging every single day since I’m home now and my life isn’t interesting but I will keep you guys updated! Thank you for going on my blogging journey with me! I will catch you guys next time with more meanderings!
Micah, I loved your ramblings. You are an incredible writer and storyteller.
