Viva Las Vegas!
Hello fellow Homo Sapiens! I’m sorry I didn’t post this yesterday but I was so exhausted, I just couldn’t bring myself to type up my blog. I know you all will enjoy it even now though!
So today was a big day. The day we came to Las Vegas. At first we parked the RV at Allegiant Stadium and walked about a mile away to the Las Vegas sign to, naturally, take a picture with the sign. Guys the line was so long, we waited 20-30 minutes to TAKE A PICTURE!!! It was worth it though! There was a guy, a professional photographer, who stood in front of the sign and took pictures of groups for free. He was very friendly and told us that one day, the high in Vegas was 120 degrees. It was only 86 degrees yesterday, so not too bad. After the pictures, we walked to In-and-Out Burger, which just felt like a mixture of Steak ‘n Shake and Five Guys. It was overall yummy and they had Bible verses on the bottom of the cups and fry holder thingys. After lunch, we went back to our RV so we could drive to our hotel. When we got to the hotel, we were allowed to be in our room early, we unloaded our things and set out into the great Las Vegas.
At first, if I’m being honest, I wasn’t that impressed. It was just a city with lots of attractions. We were looking for some shops so that I could get a shirt, like I’ve been doing at every place. But I ended up not buying a shirt, which I’m completely fine with. I did get a sign that said ‘Micah Way’. It is a mock street sign and ima hang it on my door. We walked up and down the strip of Las Vegas and we also walked in a mile long mall. We were looking for a specific restaurant by one of my favorite chefs, Burgers by Bobby Flay, but alas we couldn’t find it so instead we went to a restaurant by another one of my favorite chefs, Guy Fieri’s Flavortown. Where are my foodies at? It was delicious!! I got a holy guacamole burger but I couldn’t have the bread so I had to get it with a lettuce wrap, it was still so delicious. My parents got trash can nachos to share, those looked so amazing and made me wish, once again, that I could have dairy. Zane got a bacon Mac 'n Cheese burger and that also looked so good! After supper, we went back to the hotel so mom and dad could change and then we headed back out onto the strip at night. We went to the mini Eiffel Tower and saw all the lights and sights at night. It was really cool! We also watched the Bellagio Fountain show from way up in the Eiffel Tower. It was beautiful!
Yesterday we walked a total of 12 miles. Overall, I would say that the city just made me sad. I can now say I've been to Vegas, heck I even saw an Elvis impersonator, but that is enough for me. It's an interesting city and I have mixed views about it. I will catch you all next time with more meanderings!
I'm also not a fan of Las Vegas! But it's good to visit once. Donna S.
